We work with artists, organisations and arts professionals to tackle the climate emergency and biodiversity loss through improving sustainable practice and creating innovative new work to raise awareness.
Our training, grants and research programmes help them develop more environmentally sustainable practices across creative sectors.
Our commissioning work includes Creative Commissions for Climate Action, which brings together artists, scientists, and digital innovators from the UK and around the world to connect and collaborate on creative responses to the climate emergency.
This work forms part of our broader British Council strategy to address climate change. Included in that is The Climate Connection, an organisation-wide initiative which brings people around the world together to meet the challenges of climate change through arts and culture, education and English language.
