Highlights from the 2025 Edinburgh Festivals, supported by the British Council.

This year's Edinburgh festivals include a wealth of international shows, supported by the British Council.

As part of the UK/Poland Season 2025 there are Polish focuses of the musical kind at both the Edinburgh Jazz Festival and Edinburgh International Festival. Also part of the UK/Poland Season is the exhibition Afterimage: Sylwia Kowalczyk at Studies in Photography.

And from Ukraine, comes a powerful solo physical performance by Nina Khyzhna – Someone Like Me.

Polish Focus at Edinburgh Jazz Festival

Polish performers, bands, and soloists will take the stage at Edinburgh's Jazz Festival. 

Performances from: Aga Zaryan, Marta Wajdzik, Joanna Duda Trio, Maciej Obara, O.N.E., Pawel Kaczmarczyk, and Piotr Schmidt.

Focus on Poland at Edinburgh International Festival

The Focus on Poland highlights exceptional Polish artists and repertoire, honours Scotland’s long-standing connection with Poland and showcases the extraordinary richness of Polish culture, both past and present.

Afterimage: Sylwia Kowalczyk

A solo exhibition of new and recent work by the Edinburgh-based Polish artist Sylwia Kowalczyk, curated by Alexander Moore.

Aligning with Edinburgh International Festival’s theme 'The Truth We Seek', the exhibition is accompanied by a bilingual public programme including an artist’s talk, a surrealist collage workshop, and a live performance evening.

Someone Like Me at Edinburgh Fringe Festival

A physical solo performance by Ukrainian artist Nina Khyzhna about the journey of a disembodied person through the bodies of others.
