About the opportunity

Following 2024's UK/France Spotlight on Culture, 2027 is set to be another key moment in the Franco-British cultural relationship.

The Regional Council of Normandy invites organisations from Normandy, France, the UK, the Channel Islands, Ireland, Southern Italy, Norway and Denmark to respond to this call for projects to be part of a major event in 2027.

The year-long programme will mark the millennium of the birth of William the Conqueror, inviting people across Europe to explore the Norman heritage that shaped our continent. Initiated by the Normandy Region of France, this major programme aims to foster European cooperation and create lasting legacies though heritage, arts, culture and education linked to a shared Norman heritage.

We have been working as part of a consortium of UK organisations, including the British Library, Historic Royal Palaces and several local authorities, to explore collaboration around this programme as it develops.

Information for applicants

  • British organisations can partner with Normandy-based organisations to apply for funding, with the Normandy partner receiving the grants (up to 50% of the total project budget) and redistributing funding to project partners in the UK.
  • A second call is expected later in 2025, or early 2026.
  • There are also labelling opportunities that are non-funded and do not require a Normandy partner to be eligible.

To discuss how your organisation can become involved, or for help in identifying potential collaboration partners in Normandy, please contact:
    candice.rousseau@normandie.fr and petya.hristova@britishcouncil.fr

Deadline to apply: 30 June 2025.
