The ABO Conference

The Association of British Orchestras (ABO) Annual Conference is the UK’s leading classical music forum. This year, more than 300 delegates will be attending, drawn from orchestras from the UK and beyond, plus funding agencies, venues, agents, publishers and suppliers. Here at the British Council, we will also be there alongside delegates we've invited from India, Kenya, Pakistan, Philippines, Turkey, Ukraine and Qatar.

ABO Highlights

This year, the conference features Question Time – a chance to discuss the hot topics of the day with special guests including chair Jamie Njoku-Goodwin, former Director of Strategy at 10 Downing Street and former Chief Executive of UK Music.

The winners of the prestigious ABO Award and the ABO Impact Awards will also be announced and celebrated – all in the capable hands of Classic FM Presenter, Ritula Shah.

The conference also offers the opportunity to discuss classical music’s current views and challenges across topics including creative health, education, politics, polarisation and devolution.
