New Landscapes is an international programme and catalyst grant scheme in partnership with University of Arts London's (UAL) Fashion, Textiles and Technology Institute (FTTI).

The programme nurtures new Research and Development (R&D) projects between SME partners (small and medium enterprises) in the UK and overseas that support new ideas shaping the future of sustainable fashion, textiles and technology.

On this page, you can read reports covering the first two years of this three-year programme.

2022 New Landscapes project report

This report shares the findings and case studies from a first-of-its-kind programme nurturing international cooperation around ethically responsible and socially engaged fashion and textile design.

The New Landscapes: Fashion, Textiles and Technology (FTT) Catalyst R&D Grant Scheme pilot programme brought together 5 UK fashion and textile small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs) and counterparts in Official Development Assistance (ODA) countries.

2023 New Landscapes Report

Climate change has driven the need for the fashion, textiles and technology (FTT) industry to redesign its relationship with both people and planet.

In response to this need, the 2023 New Landscapes grant scheme supported and enabled Research and Development collaborations between FTT organisations in the UK and eligible countries in South Asia, East Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East and North Africa.

This report presents the findings from the resulting collaborations.
